3-4-13 daily Update

Parents, 

March Math Madness.  We are kicking off our March Math Madness challenge for the students today.  See the letter sent home today for more details, but here are the basics.  Students will complete a page of Math review problems every night for homework in the month of March.  For each day the student completes the questions on time they will earn a sticker on their basketball hoop.  At the end of the four weeks, they should have earned 16 stickers (4 stickers per week x 4 weeks).  Students who meet the challenge goals will earn a popcorn and movie party the day before spring break!  Because the students have tomorrow off, I have assigned Day 1 and Day 2 of the Week 1 packet to keep us on pace to finish on time.  I also told them if school is canceled Wednesday, they are to do Day 3's math problems, too.

*Since many students were absent today, I have attached the paper so they can do it at home.

Louise Borden. An order form for our famous author, Louis Borden, went home last week.  These order forms are due by Friday.

Culture Box.  We did a little bit of country research today at school.  Please remind your child to get an early start on this Social Studies project.  Something fun is to have your child talk to grandparents and even great grandparents to get more information about their family history.  Of course, there are many online resources as well.  Please read through the packet of directions carefully with your child so you know what is expected of the project.
