OAA is next week - Please read

Dear parents,

The week of the State of Ohio 4th Grade Achievement Test has arrived.  The tests will be given next week on Monday, April 30 (Reading) and Wednesday, May 2 (Math).

The students will have 2-1/2 hours to complete each test. Our lunch and specials schedule have been adjusted to be sure the students have this much time for each day's testing.

Here are some suggestions for having your child prepared for each day's testing:

  1. Be sure that your child gets plenty of rest each night before the testing.
  2. The night before each test, please go over some of the practice materials that were sent home.  An easy review option is to use the link below which has practice tests for your child to complete.

  1. In the morning, be sure your child has a healthy, nourishing breakfast.
  2. Try to send your child off to school with a positive word encouraging him/her to try their best.
  3. Many parents have also sent a letter of encouragement for their child to open before the tests. (if am still missing these from 5 parents)
  4. It is very important that the students arrive to school on time.  Test directions will begin promptly at 8:50 a.m.  Testing will begin immediately after directions have been explained.  The class should not be interrupted after 8:50 a.m.
  5. Be sure your child has plenty of sharp No. 2 pencils to use.  Mechanical pencils are not allowed.
  6. The child should bring a HEALTHY snack to enjoy during the break we take during the testing.
  7. Each child is allowed and encouraged to have a water bottle at their desk to use when they are thirsty.

Sincerely,

The Fourth Grade Teachers
